CME Program Overview
3 Specialties, 3 Perspectives: Current Treatment Strategies for Moderately Severe Chronic Pain is a continuing medical education (CME) home study developed to provide a multidisciplinary perspective on current considerations for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic moderate pain.
The program presents highlights from a recent roundtable discussion in which a primary care, rheumatology, and pain management specialist focused on optimal management of chronic moderate pain, such as that seen in osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions. Topics include
- The importance of adequate pain assessment
- Commonly seen comorbidities associated with unrelieved pain
- Current and emerging treatment options for moderate chronic pain
Program participants also receive complimentary access to all CME activities on the National Pain Education Council Web site (www.NPECweb.org). NPEC is a multimedia Web site that serves as a source of information about pain management. NPEC activities are designed to help primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals improve their practical skills and enhance their knowledge of analgesic pharmacotherapy while providing pain specialists with materials to assist them in educating nonspecialists.
HyperCD® is a unique, Web-enabled educational format that combines high-definition CD-ROM graphics with immediate Internet connectivity and access to a broad range of learning tools.
